Over the last 5 years, PRE has had the opportunity to partner with Bellevue college to provide evaluation services for five unique projects. PRE is currently engaged in three evaluation projects with Bellevue College. In 2019, the federal Department of Education awarded Bellevue College a Title III Strengthening Institutions grant. This five-year grant is focused on improving student retention and completion rates and closing the achievement gap between underserved students and other students at Bellevue College. PRE is taking the lead on research and evaluation efforts for the grant. PRE is also the lead evaluator for Bellevue’s National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Research grant which is focused on Creating and Sustaining Successful Industry-Education Partnerships. Further, PRE is supporting Bellevue College with evaluation of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE): Innovation in Two-Year College STEM Education (ITYC)-funded Northwest Open XR Initiative (NW XR Initiative). Through this grant, Bellevue College seeks to serve as a regional training and resource hub for higher education institutions seeking to offer virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (collectively referred to as extended reality or XR) programs.

PRE has also been supporting the College in writing proposals in response to other funding opportunities, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.
