Erin McConnell, M.S.

Erin McConnell, M.S., joined the Pacific Research and Evaluation team in 2022 as a level 2 Research Associate. Erin has over six years of applied research and program evaluation experience, and a passion for using data to build understanding, drive change, and empower individuals and communities. She is skilled with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research, enjoys collaborating with stakeholders in a participatory manner, and is firmly dedicated to upholding ethical research practices.Prior to joining Pacific Research and Evaluation, Erin worked at the U.S. Center for SafeSport as a lead researcher and prevention program coordinator. In that role she led the design, implementation, and reporting of research and evaluation projects related to addressing and preventing abuse in sports. Erin earned her master’s degree in Applied Community Psychology from Portland State University. During her graduate school tenure Erin worked as a research assistant on a large-scale grant to develop, administer, and evaluate a sexual violence prevention program on multiple college campuses across the country. Her master’s thesis focused on Campus Climate for Sexual Violence and the influence of community-level factors on students’ bystander intervention behavior. Erin has worked on projects involving youth in the juvenile justice system, including assisting with data collection within Oregon Youth Authority facilities, and interning at the Cary Home for Children in Lafayette, Indiana. Erin enjoys being active in her community and has volunteered in the past at Mental Health America, Meals on Wheels, as well as Northwest Noggin, an arts-integrated program that teaches neuroscience to elementary-aged children.
